Mindset Coach
Life Coach

You are a hardworking professional.

Your hard work and professionalism have led you to achieve many goals. There used to be enthusiasm and inspiration, but now that zest for life feels under pressure.

Despite the efforts you make for your partner and family, it never seems to be enough.

You catch yourself thinking: “You catch yourself thinking, ‘Did I make the right choice?’ and ‘Is this the life I planned for?’

Where does it hurt?

You wonder if there will ever be recognition from your partner, children, and colleagues for all your efforts and hard work. But instead of that recognition, you hear that you are easily irritated, and people distance themselves from you.

You are more often irritated, impatient, and angry than before. Chatter, fussing, and dawdling only cause annoyance: “This can be done faster, more efficiently, and why isn’t it finished yet?”. Sometimes you feel like a money tree that your surroundings take for granted.

Whatever you do, it never seems to be enough. You feel undervalued and ignored.

Your reaction is likely to be either burying your head in the sand and continuing to work, or engaging excessively in something healthy (like exercising) or unhealthy (such as overworking, alcohol, or food). From experience, I can say that this is not the solution for a life with less bickering and hassle.
Patterns like these are difficult to resolve on your own. Since you’ve landed on this site, you likely considered that seeking help from a professional might be beneficial. You recognize that these patterns are not new and that you need to address some “deferred maintenance” through inner work. However, you prefer to approach this in a clear, sober manner, with someone who has been in your shoes and can relate to you as a parent, partner, and entrepreneur.

About Job

You have it all together work-wise, but with your partner and kids, you feel something is missing.

What some of my past client had to say

You have helped me to understand where negative beliefs and expectations come from and that I control how I perceive each situation.
I now feel very confident in my ability to achieve what I want to in my life and I feel so much lighter in my whole body after my sessions with you!
I have gained clarity over some past events in my life and I can now look at these events as stepping stones on my path and certain people as teachers on my path.

Job Smulders helped me, when I felt not accepted and was experiencing self doubt. He skillfully guided me through the discovery and reframing of my old and negative beliefs around the subject in a supportive and loving way. The whole process helped me to love and accept myself more and become happier and more content.

Before working with Job I was holding onto limiting beliefs, trauma and emotions relating to betrayal as a child, problems with romantic relationships and opening myself up to more abundance. Since working with him all of those have completely cleared and I am living my highest and best version of myself and fully embodying my new reality. If you are thinking of working with Job I highly recommend it! He is intuitive, supportive, wise and will help you on your journey!

Your new life

How will it be?

I’m not going to promise that there will never be bickering and hassle in your life again. Or that you will never get angry again.

However, you will make significant strides away from persistent, energy-draining patterns.

And yes, it will take some time, energy, and money.

The reward is worth it:

You will start experiencing satisfaction in your work again. You will feel more connected with your family, partner, and colleagues. You will explore how to better receive and give love, appreciation, and respect.

You will experience, learn, and discover how to create more time and appreciation. You will handle chatterboxes, verbose people, and time-suckers better. You will learn to relax in moments when you would normally get irritated.

You will (re)experience life in a fun and light-hearted way, because you can set friendly and assertive boundaries around time, appreciation, and connection.

In a nutshell, the result will be: Fewer arguments, anger, and bickering. More fun and laughter. Less rush and pressure. More free time and time for fun activities.

How will we work?

We see each other x times per month and spend at least x months together.

I like to walk, so if you don’t like sitting still, you’re in luck: we can do our sessions on the heath around Hilversum.

I don’t work according to a fixed methodology, as that would only hinder the efficiency of the approach.

We have conversations, and I help you experience the words and blockages in your body. This is important because otherwise, you stay stuck in your head, and the solutions are usually not found there. This way, you can immediately experience where issues like anger and sadness are located in your body, how they block you, and how it feels when they move into the background.

In between sessions, I occasionally send you short reminders via WhatsApp. That helps, because I understand that in daily life, a push can be very useful.

FAQ

Are my contact details passed on to anyone else?

Never.

What is the difference between life coaching and counseling?

In simple terms, most forms of therapy, including counseling, focus on ‘what has happened’. They are concerned with ‘the problem’ and with regaining mental balance and perspective.

All the while coaching focuses on what is possible for the future. It’s action oriented and supportive in helping clients move towards their ambitions.

What is your professional background?

I’ve practiced in NLP, Inner Child Healing, Gestalt Therapy, Journey Work, and more. In a previous life I’ve also worked as a career counselor and also tested candidates with psychological tests (assessment centers).

On top of that – I’ve been an entrepreneur for many years – so I know first hand how important self development is and why having someone guide you to where you want to be is so important.

What are my payment options?

My clients pay by bank transfer or credit card (via PayPal). Some business clients pay via their company invoicing system.

Where can I see testimonials?

I am Job, living with my wife and three teenagers in Hilversum.

Since 2015, I have been increasingly approached by people around me as a sparring partner/coach, whatever you want to call it. In recent years, I have actively kept time free in my schedule to be a sounding board for mainly busy professionals between the ages of 35-55.

I live near nature and I walk an average of about 40 kilometers per week. Walking is a breath of fresh air for me, as I am not good at sitting still. 😊 Many of my coaching sessions are done outdoors, while walking. But there is always the option to work indoors in my coaching space.

Appreciation, balance, anger, and being connected. These themes I have extensively experienced and explored myself in recent years and through the multiple coaching trainings I have completed. My fascination lies in how we view our world and how this affects our emotions, our actions, and so our life. I have a large toolkit of methods and interventions. I draw a lot of inspiration and methods from the work of Tony Robbins, Bashar, Brandon Bays, Nick Breau, and many more.

Central to my approach is slowing down to become (more) aware of what we think, what we belief to be true, and what we feel. I do not work according to a fixed methodology, but I use a backpack full of tools. It is beautiful to see and experience that listening, asking questions, walking, short activations, and interventions can lead to real and deep changes in the dozens of people I have guided over the past years.
